Rajmeru’s Contribution to the Indian Society

The following seminars, workshops, campaigns and studies were undertaken by Rajmeru at the district and state level for the development of the rural areas.

Event: 26th March’2010 on Right to Food
A one day seminar was organized by Rajasthan Vikas Manch in support with CASA on the Right to Food. All the representatives of the 42 Forums were present at the workshop along with members of various other Non Government Organizations. The main objective discussed was the Right to Food and the problems that are faced by the people at lower level, to increase the awareness of the human on the Right to Food and also to develop the capacity at State level.





Event: 18th-19th Feb.2010 on BPL Selection Process
Rajmeru has participated and facilitated with Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) of BPL selection process which discussed role of civil society awareness, transparency to reduce bureaucracy, empowering the gram sabha, to remove the irregularity of the BPL selection process, ensuring transparency and imposing severe punishment on irregularity. Two days workshop of public forum leaders on concept of group’s institution and public forum on 18th - 19th Feb.’ 2010 was held.






Event: 22nd-23rd Dec.2009- Regional Workshop on Good Governance in Jaipur, (Raj.)
A two day workshop on Good Governance in Civil Society Organization was organized by Voluntary Action Network India (VANI) in association with Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) and Rajmeru, Jaipur. The main purpose of the workshop was to enhance common understanding among the participants on issues of legitimacy, transparency and accountability, hence leading to the creation of an environment for promoting of good governance practices among the Civil Society Organization (CSO’s).





Event: 14th-15th Oct.2008 on Save Water Save Life
Nirman Sansthan, Khandel and Rajmeru with the support of CASA organized a seminar on Save Water Save Life on 15th Oct’2008. 1000 men and women from 25 villages participated in the programme and discussed on the optimum utilization of water and measures to save it.




Event: 30th July’2008-31st July’2008 on People’s Development
CASA-Rajmeru organized a workshop on people’s development under which the following issues were discussed:
1. How to inspire people
2. How to be dedicated towards achievement of goals
3. How to work with the youth
4. How to develop an understanding
5. How to analyze the issues relating to people’s development





Event: 10th Dec.2007 on Convention on “Livelihood: Women Perspectives on problems and Challenges.”
A one day workshop was organized on Convention on “Livelihood: Women Perspectives on problems and Challenges” on the occasion of Human Rights Day on 10th Dec.2007 with the following objectives:
To analyze different livelihood related problems and challenges by hearing the voices from women members of 7 people organization.
To derive alternative strategies on moving towards a better solution.
To provide a common platform at state level to address women and other issues.


Event: 20th-24th Aug.2007on Awareness Campaign on Jal, Jeevan and Jeevikoparjan
Virat Manch organized a four day rally on “Jal, Jeevan and Jeevikoparjan” (Water, Life and Livelihood) at the Virat Nagar Block from 20th-24th Aug 2007. The objectives of the Rally were:
To analyze different livelihood related problems and challenges by hearing the voices of women members.
To derive alternative strategies on moving towards a better solution.
To provide a common platform at state level to address women, backward and marginalized people and dalit issues.





Study: Jaisalmer Flood 2006
Rajmeru took the initiative of analyzing the situation in the flood affected areas of Jaisalmer district. The organizations involved also contributed in reaching out relief materials to the flood affected people. Facts and figures were collected throughout the survey; regular interaction with the district authorities was done to assess the situation.
